This young man has the world before him, every door is open. He is creative, intelligent, kind, funny and happens to also be voted Most Photogenic for his senior class (I could definitely see why as soon as the shoot started). To me he seemed Kennedyesque, composed, confident and completely comfortable in his own skin. He is soaking in these final days of high school while also ready for the next adventure, college life at Cal State Long Beach. A senior shoot is always special, such a unique time in an individual’s life, filled with excitement, impatience, nervousness, celebrations, planning, shopping, packing, goodbyes…bittersweet indeed.
I couldn’t not capture a few images of this senior and his very proud mom, who has every reason to be proud. She didn’t know she’d be in a few photos, I was grateful she was up for it. After spending the morning with the two of them it was very clear how very much they have savored this time, how the time has probably moved much too fast in some respects and how very much they will miss one another in the day-to-day.
The world is truly before you, Ian, I wish you the very best and am excited to hear down the road what path you have chosen. Congratulations!
