Adam, Kim and their two little girls hosted two orphaned Ukrainian siblings over the summer. As you can see, they quickly became a family. The real deal. Lots of love, tears, some tantrums, belly button tickles, surprises, happy moods, grumpy moods…a family. Kim kept a blog over the summer documenting the experience, the link is here. At the end of the hosting time the two children had to go back to Ukraine along with several others who had been hosted with other families, whether the families wanted to adopt or not. Adam and Kim knew their family was no longer complete without their other two children, and so they have begun the process of bringing them home, to where their hearts are truly home.
The journey to bring them home begins with lots of paperwork and details on Adam and Kim’s part, although there is a wonderful way family, friends and generous people aware of their story can help them. Please visit their fundraising site here if you’d like to know more. As one can imagine it is a very expensive process, with multiple trips and expenses that must be paid. Adam and Kim did not ask me to tell their story, it’s only because I know them and their kind spirits that I wanted to help them in any way I could by sharing their story.
It was pure joy to spend time with all of them during the photo shoot and very clear they are all meant to be together, giving belly button tickles, learning, teaching, taking care of one another and being a part of the happy chaos and love that makes a family.
