Morning air, bright sun and the wild growth of prickly weeds and bursts of color. Mid-May. It’s a beauty, and a bear.

I’d like to allow this week’s unbearable heat to be bearable.
To fill up my hours and check things off the list, then add some more.
It would be wonderful to put those items in the mail that are awaiting their USPS journey.
Wake up early and stain the new shelves, then do the second coat the next day.
Pull the weeds and prepare for mulch.
Hang new lights on the patio.
Shake out and fluff the outdoor cushions.
Buy marshmallows and toast them.

Begin summer.
