Anything with matcha flavor, and especially cold can easily become a favorite of mine. Our local Jamba Juice recently took the Matcha Green Tea Blast off the menu…poof…it was gone! This was basically the only reason I was still going to Jamba while trying to use up all my gift cards since I started making my own. I have been determined to find matcha powder and try it for myself.
I finally found some matcha at Jimbo’s. Once I saw the small size I as getting for a very big price I realized that may be one reason Jamba stopped making them.
This is an early experimentation and tasted quite good. It also gave me such a burst of energy that I was doing the work of three Staceys… I got a lot done in a short amount of time and didn’t even take a nap.
Matcha Smoothie
1 cup almond milk
1 scoop frozen yogurt or vanilla ice cream
2 dates
1 frozen banana
1 teaspoon hemp seeds
2 teaspoons matcha
Blend and drink it up!
It was very tasty and possibly could have a hint more matcha for that full umami taste. This made enough for one healthy serving. Matcha is rich in nutrients and antioxidants, relaxes the mind, enhances ones mood, and provides a calm alertness for many hours. It has concentrated health benefits and exceeds those of regular green tea. So many reasons to drink some this very minute!
