Just about a year ago I photographed this bundle of cuteness as a newborn, and here she is the week before she turned one. In the short time I was visiting she showed me all sorts of moods, from very happy to inquisitive and curious about my camera to grumpy and ready for her nap. She truly is a doll from head to toe, I adore the pile of curls on top of her head and her delicate wave and smile.
Most little ones go away from the camera and I often need a longer lens to get up close, at least initially, but Zoey was just the opposite. She came up close to me and kept coming closer, curious and busy going about her business of playing and walking around.
It is extra special to photograph Zoey, I’ve known her mom since she was in kindergarten with my little sister. Four years from now this one year old will be five and heading to kindergarten herself, how very lucky she will be to find her best friend so soon, as her mom and my sister did when they found each other.
